Experienced Breeder

ICE has been experienced in breeding and actively showing for years. My experience started with AKC Chihuahuas for 11 years and then in 2017 my program turned the focus on the UKC Alaskan Klee Kai. During this time ICE has finished many UKC Champions and have had our Klee Kai in the top 10 Breed National Standings. We strive in breeding for the betterment of the Alaskan Klee Kai. Every breeding that takes place here, is well planned and thought out years in advance. ICE focuses on health, structure and temperament. All three of these components are our utmost priority. ICE has registered all our program Alaskan Klee Kai with the Foundation Stock Services through the American Kennel Club. This is exciting and our breed will be working for full AKC recognition within the next couple of years!

ICE is actively showing our program dogs in UKC shows. We like to see the success of our breeding program reflected through the results the dogs achieve in the show ring. Most of the ICE program dogs have their UKC Champion title before they are bred. We feel strongly that having outside evaluations of the ICE program dogs, will assists us in making our program stronger. All of our ICE program dogs are health tested CHIC and OFA certified BEFORE they are ever bred in the ICE program. ICE program dogs are UKC registered and so are their offspring. So you can rest assured that you are getting a true AKK puppy out of two UKC registered and health tested parents.

ICE is an active member of the Alaskan Klee Kai Association of America and the Southern Colorado Kennel Club.

What we love about this breed:

AKK are incredibly smart and learn quickly
AKK are very loyal and want to please
AKK are clean and do not have a doggy smell
AKK are a unique bred and if you love the look of a husky but don't have the room for a husky, this might be a perfect choice
AKK are small enough to take with you on vacation or on a plane in most cases
AKK can look at you and read your mind, they have such a unique connection with their humans. It is truly amazing!
AKK are such a unique breed once you have one you want another. They are loved by many and yet quite rare. When you go in public with this breed, you are flocked with people that want to know more about them.

What to consider before choosing this breed:

AKK have a high prey drive and can not be trusted off leash.
AKK can not be trusted with small animals such as mice, rabbits, birds or other prey type creatures. (Close Supervision is needed)
AKK is a great escape artist and can dig and climb fence enclosures.
AKK have the tendency to attach to one person in the family and coexist with others in the home
AKK need to be socialized and exposed to many people and new experiences. It is highly recommended to get into formal training for obedience as a puppy. This breed is eager to please and a quick learner.
AKK can have separation anxiety when left alone
AKK shed twice a year and have light shedding in-between dropping their coats.
